Company demonstrates their latest software offering at zCon 2013 to enhance development of virtual reality applications
SUNNYVALE, CA — April 22, 2013 — zSpace, Inc., a technology provider that is transforming the future of human-computer interaction, today announced the availability of their latest zSpace enabling software technology, zESTTM to their developer community. They will demonstrate the software at zCon 2013, the world’s first interactive 3D computing conference, beginning today at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.
zSpace, a virtual holographic platform, empowers users to visualize and directly interact with holographic simulations in an immersive 3D environment. The release of zEST enhances and expands zSpace software tools that enable application developers to create the world’s most lifelike and interactive user experiences. The latest zSpace SDK delivers improved stylus tracking, providing developers with a larger interactive volume and higher level of precision. It includes new interaction modes such as stylus tap and double tap, which further enables the new world of direct interaction by leveraging existing user experience. Additionally, this release includes zSpace Experience, a next generation application created using the Unity development platform, featuring a new anatomical scene of an interactive beating heart.

zEST now includes support for Virtual Reality Peripheral Network (VRPN), developed in cooperation with Dassault Systèmes. VRPN is a device-independent and network-transparent system for accessing virtual reality peripherals in VR applications. By supporting VRPN, zSpace is now configurable to work with even more applications.
At zCon 2013, zSpace will also demonstrate breakthrough video fusion capabilities that enable developers to create real-time videos of their applications in use. These videos capture the essence of the perception their users have while interacting with the zSpace platform. This new feature expands the tools available to a zSpace developer to include enhanced marketing and sales capabilities.
